In this section we'll explain how you'll create messages and manage their content with Connect. Messages are the whole point of your e-mail campaigns; compelling messages will inspire your customers to respond to them. You can use Connect's other features - audience and segmentation models, filters, and behavioral statistics tracking - to help you better target your customers with more focused messages in later campaigns.
Before you can assign messages to a campaign, you must first define the campaign's type and segmentation model.
Warning! Make sure you've correctly defined your segmentation model before you associate messages with it. After you add a message to a campaign, you can only edit the change the segmentation model if the message is targeted to all segments. Be certain that you have selected the segmentation model you want to use before you associate messages to it. You also cannot change your campaign type once messages are associated with it.

For more information about defining message details (including the segment or segments the message is targeted to) see Defining Message Details.
You'll find information about creating and administering the content of your messages in the Content Administration Guide.
