The content of messages set to customers is performed in the Content screen.
Content objects are created and associated to segments of customers and sent.

Each message content is defined by the message header, content type and the message
transmission security definitions.
Message content is made by:
- Creating the actual content in specific formats (e.g. HTML, plain text)
- Placing the content on a content server accessible to both the Mail Composer and
the Connect application server
- Configuring the Content Object by specifying the URL of the content on the web
server
The actual content of the messages are stored on separate content servers. The mail
content is assocaited to Connect using URLs pointing to the appropriate file on the
content server. This allows Creative Teams to create content for messages without having
to access Connect. There is a content editor available in Connect should you wish to
edit message content there without using a separate application and FTP application to
update the content files.
Note: The Mail Composer lies between your inner and outer
firewalls (the DMZ) while your UI server is found behind your inner firewall (the
secure zone). It is suggested that you place the web server in the DMZ and use the
override tools for link verification.
Connect also allows you to send messages with attachments. Attachments are attached
directly to the content, allowing you to send attachments to specific customer segments
as necessary. As well, Connect allows you to analyse the links in messages to ensure
that they are valid prior to being sent.
