Interests are used in Connect to define message links for filters. Once configured, the interests are able to be tabulated for reporting on campaign clicks in the messages. When defined, Connect collects data on the number of clicks that customers make in messages with links associated to interests. In this manner, interests define and capture the click history of your customers. By storing interests based on click-history, you are able to gather information on the customer's behaviour patterns and add this to further focus your campaigns.
For example, in a campaign used to target interests in articles or information on key political issues, an interest called "Public Transit" could be created and assigned to all links in a message that relate to public transit. When a customer clicks on a link with "Public Transit" as the related interest, Connect records the number of links the customer clicks in messages related to the associated interest. You are then able to target future campaigns to customers who have selected these interests.
You are able to define interests in the Interests page. This page allows you to create, edit or delete an interest.
