In order to configure the Twitter delivery channel, you must first create a Twitter application and access tokens for Connect. A Twitter application is any external program that accesses the Twitter APIs.
Creating a Twitter Application
To create a Twitter application for Connect:
- Sign into https://dev.twitter.com using the Twitter ID to be used for the Twitter delivery channel.
- Navigate to My Applications and click Create New App.
- Fill in the required fields. Note that the callback URL is not necessary.
- Edit the application. Under the Settings tab, set 'Application
Type' to “Read, Write and Access direct messages”
- In the Details tab, you will see the Consumer Key, Consumer Secret,
Access Token, and Access Token Secret for your Twitter App. You will need
these values to configure the Twitter delivery channel.Note: You may need to click the Recreate my access token button if these values are not visible.
