When you add a segmentation model, some of the fields change based on other selections
you make. Follow these directions to add a new segmentation model.
- From the Segmentation Models screen, click Commands > New
Segmentation. The Create Segmentation Model screen appears.
- In the Name field, type a unique name for the segmentation model.
- In the Description field, type a description for the segmentation
model.
- From the Department drop-down field, select the appropriate
department.
- In the section, Segmentation Models for Event-Triggered Campaigns can use
Event Parameters, define the event that triggers the campaign. Do the
following to define the event:
- Beside the Associated Event field, click the hyperlink. The
screen expands to display the Please select an event campaign to
associate it with this segment section.
- Select an event-triggered campaign.
- Click the Save button. The screen contracts and the
event-triggered campaign appears beside the Associated Event
field.
- From the Based On drop-down list in the Segmentation Models may
partition based on Customer Profile data or random groups section,
select the option for segmentation type. The fields in the Define ordered
list of Segments change based on your selection. (See Ordered Segment
List for more information.)
- In the Define ordered list of Segments section, define the segment appropriately.
- Click the Save button. The segmentation model is saved and the
Segmentation Models screen appears.

When you select how you want to partition a segment, partition based on Customer
Profile data or random groups, the options in the Define ordered list of
Segments change. The following appear when you select a partition type.
