The Type (or Tag)-Length-Value options are a set of optional values used by the server.
The options set or return information. In general, TLV options include the following information:
- Type (Tag) - Binary code, usually alphanumeric, indicating the field this part
of the message represents.
- Length - Value field size (in bytes).
- Value - Series of bytes containing data for this message part.

Creating Tag Length Value Options
To create a tag length value parameter:
- Navigate to the Instance Admin screen. The System Parameters
screen displays.

- Click on the Messaging sub-menu in the menu bar on the left, followed
by the SMPP menu option. The SMPP screen appears.

- Click on the desired SMPP server name link from the list of SMPP server or
click on the Edit icon (
) beside the desired SMPP. The Edit SMPP
Server Information screen appears displaying the details of the SMPP
server.
- Click on the Senders sub-menu tab. The SMPP Senders screen
appears.

- Click on the TLV Options sub-menu tab. The TLV Options screen
appears.

- Click inside the Choose Param field. A list of TLV parameters appears.
- Select the desired parameter. The parameter appears in the Choose
Param field.

- Click the Add button. The Edit SMPP Optional Parameter screen appears.
- Enter the appropriate parameter value in the Parameter Value
field.
- To cancel without saving the parameter, click the Cancel button. The
TLV Options screen appears. The parameter is not saved.
- Click the Save button. The TLV parameter is added to the list.
