Phase 1: Moving Data from Source Files to Staging Tables

In Phase 1, customer data is extracted, transformed, and loaded from enterprise source files into ETL staging tables. The ETL staging tables are provided with Connect.

Phase 1 consists of:

A session that extracts the source data for a specified time interval. Source data may be extracted either automatically, by setting up a job control session, or manually, by using the Server Manager.
One or more mapping sessions performing transformations on the extracted data.

You can group all the sessions for Phase 1 into a batch.

The job control session or File Wait process extracts the source data for a specified interval. Usually, this interval is the amount of time since the last session.
