To set up SMPP service you must begin by setting up a server followed by setting up the remaining
services. This page covers the basic actions you can perform from the SMPP page.
Create New SMPP
Follow these directions to setup new SMPP servers.
- From the SMPP screen, click Commands > New SMPP Server. The
Edit SMPP server information screen appears with the
Profile tab visible.
- From the SMPP Version drop-down list, select the SMPP version you
want to use.
- In the Name field, type a unique name for the server.
- In the Host Name field, type the appropriate hostname.
- In the Server Port field, type the appropriate port number.
- In the Login Name field, type the login information for the
server.
- In the Password field type the server password.
- Optionally, complete the Messages per second, Max Connections,
and Extra SMSC IP List fields.
- Click the Save button. The Senders, Advanced Options,
and TLV Options tabs appear and the server appears on the SMPP
screen.
For the purposes of ths procedure, from the left menu under Messaging, click
SMPP.
Go to TLV List
Tag-Length-Value (TLV) options provide you with the optional actions you can embed in
a message. To view the options, from the SMPP screen, click Commands > Go
to TLV List. The TLV screen appears. All of the TLV options are
listed and you can edit or delete them as needed.
Edit SMPP Server
Follow these directions to edit the SMPP server information.
- From the SMPP screen, click Actions > Edit. The Edit SMPP
server information screen appears with the Profile tab active.
- Make your changes on all tabs.
- Click the Save button. The SMPP screen appears and your
changes are saved.
Delete SMPP Server
Follow these directions to delete an SMPP server.
- From the SMPP screen, click Actions > Delete. A confirmation
box appears.
- In the confirmation dialog box, click the OK button, The server is
removed from the list.
