Languages

Connect enables custom personalization for e-mail campaigns. Multiple languages enhance support for a global customer base by enabling you to send messages in multiple languages from a single Connect instance. Configure new languages such as Japanese or Chinese. Multiple language support enables you to reduce system operations and maintenance costs by supporting different languages from one Connect instance.

Add New Language

The Edit Language screen has an option for three character sets. Add, one, two, or all three character sets. Follow these directions to add a new language.
  1. From the Languages screen, click Commands > New Language. The Edit Language screen appears.
  2. In the Language field, type the language name.
  3. In the Header Charset field, type the appropriate character set. For example, UTF-8 or ISO-8859-1.
  4. From the Header Transfer Encoding drop-down list, select the appropriate encoding. Options include:
    • Default
    • QP - Quoted Printable encoding.
    • Base64 - Binary encoding.
  5. In the Body Charset field, type the appropriate character set. This character set specifically specifically identifies an email body.
  6. In the Body Transfer Encoding drop-down list, select the appropriate encoding. Options include:
    • Default
    • QP
    • Base64
    • QP (if needed)
    • Base64 (if needed)
  7. In the Content Charset field, type the content character set.
  8. From the SMPP Data Coding drop-down list, select the appropriate coding. This coding is for SMS messages.
  9. Click the Display in Language Listings checkbox if you want the language to appear in the content drop-down lists when you create content.

Edit Language

Follow these directions to edit language properties.
  1. From the Languages screen, click Actions > Edit. The Edit Language screen appears.
  2. Make your changes.
  3. Click the Save button to save your changes.
