Connect includes the data needed to select the proper format for the most common e-mail clients. The format requirements for each e-mail client comes from the customer or through the Connect detection function.
Before sending your email, make sure you create a version for each email client in your audience. Begin by evaluating the email data in your customer database or polling your customers to determine which formats are most commonly supported. As you continue using Connect, the HTML detector collects information, increasing the detail and accuracy of your customer data. When you send the message, Connect selects the appropriate format for each customer’s e-mail client.
Although most e-mail clients support HTML, users have the option to choose between HTML email and plain text. To ensure that you are reaching your customers, create your content in both plain text and HTML at a minimum. Users have the option to choose between HTML email and plain text.
Connect can send messages in multiple languages from a single Connect instance. The Languages tab in the Messages window enables you to define and maintain language information.
One of the defined languages needs to be selected at the campaign level or message level to determine the header, body character set, and appropriate encoding scheme for any corresponding outbound email. For more information, see the Multi Language Support document in the Connect documentation set.
