Target Tables

Target tables are the tables into which you load data. In Phase 1, the target tables are the ETL staging tables. In Phase 2, they are the Connect database tables.

To import a source database table into a target table:
  1. Open the Start menu on your desktop and choose Programs > Informatica > Designer.
  2. In the Designer window, select the Warehouse Designer from the Tools section.
  3. From the Tool Bar, select the Sources tab, Import from Database
  4. Include the following information on the Source database:
    • ODBC Data Source
    • Username
    • Ownername
    • Password
Use the Informatica Designer’s Warehouse Designer tool to modify target tables. You should never modify the ETL staging tables provided by Connect, but you may wish to move your data from an original database into a specially-created set of tables from which data can then be more easily loaded into the ETL staging tables. In that situation you might wish to use the Warehouse Designer to modify the specially-created set of tables. To open the Warehouse Designer:
  1. Open the Start menu on your desktop and choose Programs > Informatica > Designer.
  2. In the Designer window, select the Warehouse Designer tool.
