You can use the Repository Manager to back up and restore the repository. Before you make
a major change to the repository, you should save a backup copy of the repository to
your hard drive.
When restoring a repository, you must have a database available for it.
When you back up a repository, it is saved as a binary file.
To back up or restore a repository:
- Open the Start menu on your desktop and choose Programs, Informatica, Repository
Manager. The Repository Manager window is displayed.
- Do one of the following:
- To back up the repository, select Repository, Backup Repository from the
menu bar, and enter the repository name and the location to which you
want to back it up.
- To restore the repository, select Repository, Restore Repository from
the menu bar, and enter the name and locations of the repository you
want to restore.
Note: When you restore a repository, you must name it what it was originally named.
For more information on backing up and restoring repositories, see Informatica’s
Administrator Guide.
