Customer Preferences

Preferences are values representing things you already know about a particular customer. Perhaps they filled out a preferences form at your web site, or made particular purchases that represent preferences.

Preferences are more flexible than attributes. A customer can have multiple values for each preference type. Preferences can also be used to individually tailor message content. The preferences you define here are stored in the Preference Master table and can be loaded into the customer database.

Click Preferences in Admin Customer window to display the Preferences window.  This window lists the all or the currently-defined customer preferences.  Controls in this view enable you to create new preferences or edit existing ones. You can resort the data in any column by clicking on the column name.

Create a New Preference: To add a preference, click this button to display the Enter Preference Settings window.

Preference Name: Each preference has a unique name.

Type: Preference types include String, Number, Date, or Single Character.

Bounded: &endash; Each preference is either bounded or not bounded. For example, the preference Cycling may be bounded by the values Mountain and Road.

Multiple Values: &endash; A Yes or No in this column indicates whether or not multiple values are  allowed per customer for that preference.

Note: You can sort the information in any column by clicking the columns name.

Click the edit icon beside any preference you want to make changes to. This will display the settings of that preference in the Enter Preference Settings window.
