Customer Attributes

Attributes enable you to store information you have about your customers. Because your business is unique, you define the attributes that most support your business.

E-mail Client Types and Gender are pre-defined attributes included in your product installation. There may be other pre-defined attributes as well. Contact your System Administrator for assistance if you need assistance with these or other pre-defined attributes.

Attributes are used in defining filters for audiences or segments in the segmentation model of a campaign. They are also used in defining tracking criteria for reports. The attributes you define here are stored in the Attribute Master table and specific attributes can be loaded into the database.

The Attributes window is the default Customer window where you can edit existing attributes or create new ones. You can resort the data in any column by clicking on the column name.

Create New Attribute: To create a new attribute, click this button to access the Enter Attributes Settings window.

Attribute Name: Each attribute must have a unique name.

Type: Attribute Types include String, Number, Date, or Single Character.

Bounded: Each attribute is either bounded or not bounded. An example of a bounded attribute is Age Range, which may be bounded by values such as 19 to 25.
Note: You can sort the information in any column by clicking the columns name.

Click the edit icon beside any attribute you want to make changes to. This will display that attribute’s information in the Enter Attribute Information window.

To delete an attribute click the delete icon to the right of that attribute.
Note: Connect will not allow you to delete an attribute if doing so will corrupt statistical data related to that attribute.
