Configuring Customers for Wireless Domain
This section provides information on how to configure customers for SMS/Wireless
domain. As described in earlier chapters Connect uses the curr_email_client_id from
customer profile to identify the content type (such as HTML, Text, and Short Text)
to be sent to a customer. On the user interface, navigate to Customers >
Customer Browser > Customer Search tab.
- In Customer Search window, click Create a New Customer to create a new
customer or use search criteria to edit an existing customer.
- In Customer Profile window, Enter the customer profile information, as
appropriate.
- E-mail Address: Enter the number to which the SMS needs to be sent and the
corresponding SMS Aggregator in the format [email protected], where
xxxxxxx is the number to which the SMS needs to be sent and
wirelessdomain.com is the wireless domain which will act as an SMS
Aggregator.
- Content Type: Select Short Text.
- Click Update to save the customer profile information.
A single customer profile cannot be used to send both SMS and e-mail messages as the
number to which the SMS needs to be sent and the wireless domain are stored in the
e-mail address field.
Note: When upgrading from prior releases of Connect, a new profile needs to be created
for any existing customer, for whom you want to send SMS messages.
