Google announced on March 13th<\/sup> that it will retire Google Reader on July 1, 2013<\/a> as part of its second round of Spring Cleaning.<\/p>\n

We launched Google Reader in 2005 in an effort to make it easy for people to discover and keep tabs on their favorite websites. While the product has a loyal following, over the years usage has declined. So, on July 1, 2013, we will retire Google Reader.\u00a0<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Many of you, including myself, have counted on Reader to be your daily online-reading launching point for years. If you are soon to be a Google Reader stray, we want to make certain you keep receiving Brick Street Software updates. Here are some ways to ensure you will continue to receive news from your favorite publications.<\/p>\n

Plan A – alternate RSS readers<\/h3>\n

If you prefer RSS, you will need to decide upon a new reader. To assist in the selection process, Marketing Land has published a short list of 12 Google Reader Alternatives.<\/a>\u00a0Having announced the addition of 3 million users since the Reader retirement announcement from Google,\u00a0Feedly<\/a>\u00a0looks to become the market reader leader.<\/p>\n

Plan B – subscribing by email<\/h3>\n

If you are concerned about being at the mercy of a third-party RSS reader, or prefer a different communication channel, subscribe to our email conversations<\/a>. With email you will have:<\/p>\n
