Triggered and Automated Campaigns

Connect campaigns can be triggered by external events or by customer behavior.

When a line-of-business system needs to send a transactional message, it simply sends an XML event record to Connect (e.g. by putting the event record on a message queue or sending it to a web service). Connect receives the event and fires an event-triggered campaign. The event-triggered campaign turns the event record into personalized content and sends it over the appropriate delivery channel.

Connect provides automated “follow up” campaigns that send messages based on customer behavior, such as clicking on links, responding to messages, or not responding within a certain time period. Connect can also trigger events based on bounces so that critical messages can be automatically resent on alternate delivery channels.
